Since our inception in 1944, community service has been an integral part of the culture at FirstSolutions. We are enriched, inspired, and enlivened by the mutually beneficial relationships we have with the communities we serve.
The natural evolution of these relationships is the FirstSolutions Foundation. Still in the early stages of formation, the Foundation will create a positive and lasting impression by promoting health education, health literacy, and overall mind/body wellness. The Foundation will also serve to continue the legacy of FirstSolutions by promoting innovative and affordable health care practices.

The FirstSolutions Foundation helps administer scholarships for students planning careers in health care fields.
Dr. Jerry Church Community Health Sustainer’s Award
This special memorial scholarship honors medical professionals who practiced in Two Harbors. The Sustainer’s Award provides funds to help pay for the medical training of students planning to serve as family practice physicians, nurse practitioners or registered nurses in rural areas. Recipients must be accepted into the nursing program at The College of St. Scholastica or into the UMD School of Medicine and have attended high school in northeastern Minnesota. Applications are due April 30 and are available at FirstSolutions and at the colleges, or can be downloaded below.
